Climate goals become meaningful when people can see where they fit, act with others and keep going. ClimateActions is designed around that participation challenge. The platform brings actions, teams, progress, local discovery and rewards into one configurable product for cities, organisations and campaigns. Porini Foundation is helping build the pathways that can take it into new partnerships and new countries.

A live product built around participation

ClimateActions is not presented as a future concept. Its public product site documents an installable browser application alongside editions in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Release channels can differ, and the German browser beta currently shows the newest product experience.

At its core are practical participation loops: one-off or recurring actions, teams and rankings, local discovery, a wallet with offers from participating partners, surveys, reminders and role-based tools for programme operators. A white-label edition can adapt identity and organisation setup; programme content, partnerships, languages, governance and data responsibilities are defined for each rollout.

A consortium with clear responsibilities

The public ClimateActions documentation names four complementary organizations. Verein MYBLUEPLANET initiated the product and contributes its mission, programme content and community experience. Swisscoast AG provides the technology foundation and platform-adaptation capacity. Operal AG handles product operations, partner workflows and AI-enabled delivery.

Porini Foundation’s documented role is partnerships and international rollout. Under a signed letter of intent, Porini develops collaboration pathways and supports the adaptation of ClimateActions for programmes in new countries. That distinction matters: Porini is not presented as the original product owner or the underlying technology provider. Its contribution is the connective work that helps a product meet credible institutions, local hosts and context-specific needs.

Why the role fits Porini

Porini has repeatedly worked at the boundary between conservation standards, partner networks and practical technology. Its experience with international conservation organizations, protected areas, schools and digital demonstrators is relevant when a participation platform moves beyond one national setting.

International rollout is not a translation exercise alone. A useful local edition needs trusted hosts, appropriate actions, clear partner roles, culturally credible incentives, responsible data governance and a way to learn from participation. Porini’s role is to help frame those relationships before technology is configured around them.

Participation is evidence—not automatically impact

The ClimateActions team makes an important boundary explicit: the product records participation and programme signals. Registrations, completed actions or tokens do not by themselves prove avoided emissions or environmental outcomes. Any impact claim needs a separate and transparent methodology.

That evidence discipline is central to Porini’s engagement. The immediate objective is to make participation accessible, social and locally relevant while giving programme operators signals they can use to improve the next cycle. Environmental claims should follow only where the underlying method supports them.

From a shared core to locally owned editions

ClimateActions offers a shared product core, but each rollout starts with a movement: who should participate, which local moment matters and what behaviour the programme hopes to activate. Identity, actions, teams, partner roles and governance are then configured around that purpose.

For Porini Foundation, the opportunity is to connect this working platform with mission-aligned organizations and programmes internationally—without erasing local ownership or overstating what the technology can demonstrate. That is how a digital tool can become useful climate infrastructure: not as a substitute for action, but as a practical invitation to begin and continue together.
